Poem for Wednesday

Cat staring out the window
She hasn’t seen a shadow in ages
Doors slamming like thudding firecrackers
and the shrieking crows
The weeping sweep of drooping dripping powerlines
Bare trees clothed only in raindrops
Green needled douglass firs, the enormous English laurel and mossy tree branches
Hints of plum pink stirring across the street
Puddles splash everywhere
From the endless dripping rain
Wet sticky grass…I wish it would snow
